Agency Support Specialist

Anchor Insurance writes Property and Casualty insurance products in Florida, Texas and Louisiana with plans to expand into more states. We are currently looking for an Agency Support Specialist to support our network of independent agents.

Job Purpose
As an Agency Support Specialist, you will be responsible for the administrative activities associated with onboarding new agents and supporting existing agents. You will work directly with our independent agents to contract/appoint, service, and trouble shoot any licensing related issues. The Agency Support Specialist will also work closely with our inside & outside sales team, internal marketing, product, underwriting, compliance and IT departments.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for onboarding/appointing new agents on multiple platforms (Guidewire/ISCS, Stingray, Salesforce), obtaining the required appointment documents and issuing system credentials.
  • Process appointments, renewals and terminations in accordance to each states’ statutes.
  • Respond to questions from agents concerning contracts, licensing requirements, commission, direct deposit, downloads and other licensing related matters.
  • Maintains agency license database with a focus on data integrity and accuracy in multiple platforms.
  • Consults with agents, Anchor representatives, and state officials to resolve problems on the agent’s behalf.
  • Processes buy-sells, book of business transfer and loss run requests.
  • Trouble-shoots issues associated with agency set up and service.
  • Assist or manage special projects upon request.
  • Conducts audit reviews to ensure compliance with regulations in each state.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.


  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 year’s previous experience preferred working within an insurance agency or company as an insurance agent or agent support role
  • Superior customer service skills
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills, prioritizes and plans work activities, exhibits sound and accurate judgment, demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, follows through on commitments
  • Ability to articulate information clearly and concisely
  • Must be able to collaborate and problem solve with various levels of authority including higher ranking state officials
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Experienced in use of MS Word, Excel and the internet
  • Strong PC skills and general technical trouble shooting
