Job Description

The Business Analyst works directly with the Business Unit and various internal departments to analyze, understand and document business requirements and implement solutions. Continuously strives to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure compliance with regulations, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality service. Successful candidates will offer a strategic perspective, sound business judgment, deep analytical capabilities, and a collaborative working style.

  • Research and analyze system and manual processes and prepare written recommendations for changes and/or improvements; work with various groups to ensure successful implementations.
  • Support Project Managers by performing Business Process Reviews.
  • Assess, write and communicate business requirements, evaluate and approve technical requirements, test plans, and assist with the system design.
  • Identify affected parties. Notify and educate involved groups.
  • Manage system testing to ensure thoroughness and accuracy. Conduct system and user testing as required to verify system continuity and integration as well as functionality.
  • Perform detailed ad hoc analysis.
  • Develop and write procedures for newly designed processes or functionality.
  • Answer questions regarding system functionality and processing procedures and issues.
  • Support Business Unit during implementation of new features and services, including ad-hoc training as needed.
  • Create and maintain a prioritized product backlog, and continuously update the backlog for current and future releases.


  • Working knowledge of development and testing methodologies and techniques.
  • Familiarity with basic project management methodology.
  • Analytical abilities. Must be capable of breaking problems into component parts and addressing individual issues in order to develop an appropriate and thorough solution.
  • Interviewing skills as related to requirements elicitation and data gathering.
  • Self-motivated, deadline-driven, ability to support multiple projects with competing priority.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to understand how a process fits into the overall business model.
  • Conduct research and analysis with minimal supervision.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to influence others and negotiate effectively with all levels of the organization.

  • Experience with Business Requirements Document, Functional Requirements Document, Post Production Validation, Data flow diagrams, Use Cases, Process Flows, Current State Future State Diagrams, Issues Log, Requirement Walkthroughs, and Design Assistance.

 Required Education

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Information Systems or equivalent experience

Required Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of Business Analyst experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of Property & Casualty experience (Homeowners preferred.)
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Multi-tasking ability in a dynamic business environment.
  • Ability to negotiate across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to validate accuracy.
  • Experience with SQL is beneficial.
